This experience will demonstrate the natural beauty, cultural depth and awe that
this gorgeous country has to offer. This trip has been prepared for intermediate mountain
bikers that want to travel to the far off land of Ecuador!
In Ecuador, embarking on an adventure to shred bikes amid the majestic Andes Mountains is
like stepping into a breathtaking storybook of soaring peaks, rolling hills, and charming
villages nestled in the clouds. Discovering ancient trails, surrounded by towering peaks that
seem to touch the sky. Riders will discover a world of wonder—lush valleys, serene lakes,
glacier peaks and hot springs. Accomodations will be authentic and close to the locals to give this experience that extra bit of epicness!
Day 1: Upon landing at Quito International Airport, our local team will greet you and transfer you to Hotel
Ilalo. If time allows, you can either assemble your bike or explore the charms of Quito at your leisure. No
structured activities are scheduled for this day. *We strongly advise arriving at least a day prior to
acclimate to the altitude and ensure you're fully energized for the upcoming adventures.
Day 2: Start your Ecuador Adventure with a hearty breakfast and bike assembly. Our day kicks off with a
thrilling ride at the Metropolitano trail system, nestled in Quito's core. These trails offer an ideal setting
to acclimate to the altitude while acquainting yourself with Ecuadorian trail nuances and the diverse
terrain you'll encounter throughout our journey. Following a delightful lunch in the heart of Quito, we
make our way to the center to discover the beauty of Quito’s center.
Day 3: Our second day of riding will take place in one of the most untouched places in the Quito Valley,
Lumbisí. This was a separate indigenous community that managed to remain autonomous during the
Incan rule and was the last community conquered by the Spanish in the late 1500s. Today, we will ride
through this trail system, which has existed as walking paths for hundreds of years but has become the
locals' training ground in the last 25 years! The Lumbisí trails are where biking started for many
Ecuadorian bikers and consist of 4-5 trails, each about 5 kilometers long with a descent of 3,000 meters.
Riders will wind their way through the Eucalyptus forest, tackling small jumps, perfect berms, and epic
singletrack.
Day 4: Today, we eagerly pack our bags and bid farewell to Quito, embarking on a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the
base of Cotopaxi Volcano. Here, nestled amidst the captivating volcanic forests, awaits the Cotopaxi Bike
Park—an adventurer's paradise. With singletrack trails weaving through lush, humid highland forests and
loamy volcanic earth beneath our wheels, every moment promises exhilarating exploration. After a
satisfying lunch, the excitement continues with options to conquer jump lines, master the pump track, or
return to the trails for more adrenaline-fueled rides. As the day draws to a close, we'll find solace in a
cozy guest house nestled alongside the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano, ready to recharge for another day of
adventure. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty and thrill of the Cotopaxi Bike Park experience.
Day 5: Rising to the breathtaking sight of Cotopaxi's base, bikers gear up for an adrenaline-pumping freeride
down the volcano's slopes. Probably one of the best days you can have on a mountain bike, shredding
down 1,000 plus meters of pure freeride, this is a day to write home about. Meanwhile, non-bikers
embark on a picturesque horseback riding excursion, immersing themselves in the rugged beauty that
surrounds this iconic peak. An unforgettable day exploring nature's wonders awaits, catering to both
adventure enthusiasts and those seeking a more serene connection with the landscape."
Day 6: Embracing the luxury of a leisurely morning, we indulge in a delightful breakfast and pack our
belongings for the next adventure. Today's journey takes us on a 3-hour ride to the secret mountain
biker paradise – the province of Bolivar. En route, we traverse the awe-inspiring Valley of Volcanoes, a breathtaking prelude to the natural wonders that await. Our midday stop in Ambato treats us to a traditional Andean lunch, a feast of flavors to fuel our onward exploration. In the late afternoon, we
reach our haven in Guaranda – La Guilena, a charming family-run retreat adorned with artfully decorated cabanas. Two nights in this serene abode promise an immersion into the heart of Ecuador's hidden gems.
Day 7: Prepare for an exhilarating journey as you descend the slopes of the Chimborazo, Ecuador's tallest volcano. Uncover the rich
history of local ice harvesters who once navigated this 20-kilometer mule trail, transporting ice from the glacial heights to
coastal regions. Rediscovered by local mountain bikers in the past two decades, this ancient route starts at 4,500 meters,
guiding you through volcanic landscapes before descending to 2,300 meters. Enjoy the thrill of the ride on perfect volcanic dirt
with a grip that has no comparison as you wind down the grassy mountain sides of the this ancient volcano! This truly is an epic
day to be a mountain biker! Your accommodation for the evening is La Guilena, a family-run
haven, delve into the heart of Ecuador's highlands with an immersive farm tour. Learn about the local way of life, visit the
dairy farm, engage with chickens, and witness the daily rhythms of the cows.
Day 8: At this point in your vacation you will not have done a ton of climbing, but today we are going to tackle a proper up and down
enduro trail! The providence of Bolivar is an agricultural state that is riddle with walking paths that were used as routes to
transport crops and food for a thousand plus years. All of these trails are now mostly sleeping, but many have opened as trails
for hiking, horse back riding, of course biking! So today you pack a lunch and embark on a super magical tour of the old forests,
farms, and haciendas that occupy this wondrous land on the Camino Del Rey. This trial was built by Marcelo Vargas, the last
real cowboy of Ecuador, self proclaimed at least, and is a wonderful connection of trails that has at total of 300 meters.
Day 9: Here, a full salt terrace tour unfolds, revealing the intricate process behind this time-honored tradition. Delight your senses
with a chocolate tour, exploring the artistry and flavors of Ecuadorian cocoa. As the day unfolds, both bikers and non-bikers reunite, sharing
tales of their unique adventures against the backdrop of Guaranda's serene ambiance. Evening at La Guilena invites
relaxation and camaraderie, as we bask in the beauty of Ecuador's hidden mountain treasures."
Day 10: As you bid farewell to your new friends at La Guilena guest house, the memories of your time there linger warmly in your
heart. Driving back to Quito, you're surrounded by the beauty of Ecuador's countryside, each mile a testament to the country's
diversity. The drive will last around 4-5 hours and we will stop for a traditional Ecuadorian lunch on the pana-american
highway. In the evening, the group will load up the bus and head on a 1 hour drive to the world famous Papallacta hot springs. Set high
in the mountains over 20 pools with varying temperatures await. This is a perfect way to unwind and recharge, preparing for
another day of adventure.
Day 11: Today is our last day of riding in the magical land of Qutio and the group will be heading out to ride the
trails of their choice. Clients can choose to ride the Metropolitano or Lumibisí, by this point in the trip
clients will have ridden at both zones and be ready to conquer some familiar singletrack!
After a thrilling day of riding, arrive at the Chaupi Molina farm for a farm-fresh farewell lunch. Learn
about the farm's eco-friendly practices and spend the afternoon relaxing amidst the tranquil
surroundings, reflecting on your epic mountain biking experience. With hearts full and memories made,
bid adieu to the farm, grateful for the unforgettable adventure in Ecuador's breathtaking landscape.
Day 12: 2.5 hours before your flight time your guide will accompany you to the airport for your departure.

carrying the spirit of the journey with you as you head home
